StrangeDaal.
Melancholic hand-drawn animated short film, vertical 3:4. Style: gel-pen linework on a desaturated grey-beige world, soft overcast light, slow gentle motion. The hero is a male chibi mouse with wire-thin limbs and wide hollow eyes wearing a pink coat; the pink coat is almost the only warm color in every scene. Consistency across all scenes: the same hero mouse and pink coat; the female mouse always in a pale pink dress; the rival mouse always in a long black coat; the same small bouquet of three white tulips, the same enormous bouquet of cream-white roses, the same pale grey vintage car, the same wrought-iron gate with a brick gatepost. No dialogue, no on-screen text, no bright colors.
Timeline, 15 seconds, ten beats with quick soft cuts:
0.0-1.5s: Macro view of a small flower stall. The pink-coat mouse stands on tiptoe at the counter and picks three white tulips, dropping a few tiny coins into an old seller mouse's paw. Sound: coin clinks, paper rustle.
1.5-3.0s: A quiet cobblestone street with bare trees. The mouse walks slowly, holding the three tulips close to his chest and glancing down with faint hope; the gate is visible far ahead. Camera tracks slowly alongside. Sound: soft footsteps, light wind.
3.0-4.5s: The mouse stops abruptly at a distance from the gate. A pale grey vintage car is parked in front of it, and the tulips sink low at his side. Slow push-in on his hollow eyes. Sound: a car engine idling.
4.5-6.0s: Seen from behind a lamppost: a mouse in a long black coat extends his arm with an enormous cream-white bouquet toward the female mouse in the pale pink dress at the gate. The huge bouquet dwarfs the three tulips. Sound: muffled idling engine.
6.0-7.0s: A battered trash bin at the corner. The hero drops the tulips in with a limp paw, head bowed, and one petal drifts down. Sound: a soft thud, a lid clank.
7.0-8.0s: The hero walks away down the empty street at dusk, hunched, paws in pockets, back to camera, with a long shadow as streetlamps switch on. Sound: slow footsteps.
8.0-9.5s: At the gate the female mouse shakes her head and gently pushes the huge bouquet away; the black-coated mouse's ears droop. She has not seen the hero.
9.5-11.0s: Dusk. She lifts the lid of the small mailbox on the gatepost and peers inside: empty except for one dry leaf. Her ears droop. Sound: a soft mailbox creak.
11.0-12.5s: Night in a quiet office. The pink-coat mouse's paw lays a small wooden photo frame, holding a tiny portrait of the female mouse in pink, face down on the desk. Sound: a soft wooden tap.
12.5-15.0s: Slow push-in. The hero sits alone at the desk by a tall window, chin resting on his paw, gazing at the stars in the night sky; the face-down frame lies in the foreground and tiny stars reflect in his hollow eyes. Final hold. Sound: a ticking clock, faint distant city hum.
Music: a single sparse, slow, melancholic solo piano throughout, no vocals.
